2006 - 2008 - Phase I

August - December 2006

  • Annual Planning Commission Dinner
  • Held Project Information Meeting
  • Presented to Boards/Councils
  • Formed Advisory and Steering Committees

January - August 2007

  • Conduct Five Community Meetings
  • Promote GI Project at Venues

September - December 2007

  • Conduct Regional Network Design  Educational Workshop

January - June 2008

  • Form Leadership Group to Carry Out Regional Green Infrastructure Strategies

2008 - 2009 - Phase II

June - December 2008

  • Conduct technical GI inventory through data gathering and analysis
  • Work for formal acknowledgement/support from Boards/Councils
  • Continue work on regional projects as demonstration, continued capacity building
  • Sustain Phase I momentum
    • Create and distribute informational materials
    • Sustain visibility through presentations and public forums

January - September 2009

  • Develop strategies for integration/implementation
  • Develop toolbox of incentives and other means for integration

Late 2009 - Onward - Phase III

October 2009 - Onward

  • Integrate Green Infrastructure planning into other planning efforts including transportation, tourism and recreation, economic development, etc.
  • Promote the development of tools and techniques to support the capacity of local governments
