The New River Valley has in place many services that can assist individuals with a disability meet their everyday needs.

Blue Ridge Independent Living Center (http://www.brilc.org/)
The Blue Ridge Independent Living Center assists people with disabilities to live independently. The Center also serves the community at large by helping to create an environment that is accessible to all.

BT Access (http://www.btransit.org/cms.php/access/)
Blacksburg Transit's BT Access service provides accessible paratransit service for persons who cannot use the fixed route bus system because of a temporary or permanent disability. With this service eligible passengers may request trips to any location within the Blacksburg Town Limits.

Easter Seals Virginia (http://va.easterseals.com/site/PageServer?pagename=VADR_homepage)
Easter Seals Virginia provides programs, services, consultation, advocacy and education for children and adults with disabilities, their families and their communities.

Goodwill Industries of the Valleys Western Division (http://www.goodwill-the-valleys.com/)

Goodwill Industries of the Valleys is committed to putting people to work.
They provide employment and training services for people with disabilities or disadvantages while producing and supplying quality products and services to valued customers.

New River Valley Senior Services Inc (NRSS) (http://nrvseniorservices.org/)

Transportation-NRSS seeks to provide transportation to those individuals with a physical and/or sensory disability. There are no age requirements and the cost is based on the clients’ monthly income.

Meals-NRSS provides both Congregate and Homebound meals to eligible clients.

Southwest Virginia Assistive Technology System (SW VATS) (http://www.swvats.atc.vt.edu/)
Southwest Virginia Assistive Technology System (SW VATS) is one of three regional sites of the Virginia Assistive Technology System, a statewide systems change project committed to improving the quality of life for all Virginians by increasing awareness and accessibility of Assistive Technology (AT).
