The Transportation Technical Advisory Committee (TTAC) advises the NRVPDC on transportation matters and serves as a forum for addressing regional transportation concerns. TTAC includes representatives from local governments and institutions in the Planning District, as well as representatives of the Virginia Department of Transportation. NRVPDC staff provide staff support to the TTAC.

On an annual basis, the TTAC oversees development of initial drafts of the following documents: the Rural Transportation Planning Program’s Work Program; and Comments on Regional Transportation Needs for presentation at the Commonwealth Transportation Board Pre-Allocation Hearing. Once approved by the TTAC, these documents are forwarded to the NRVPDC for review and approval.

Meetings of the TTAC are open to the public. Meetings are typically held bimonthly on the third Tuesday at the New River Valley Competitiveness Center in Fairlawn.
