Manufacturing jobs are very important to a healthy economy. In the New River Valley, the creation of 100 new manufacturing jobs leads to 107 new "spinoff" jobs, an increase in retail sales of $2.7 million, and an increase of $6.6 million in aggregate personal income.*

These jobs can come from new companies that move into the region, or better yet, from companies that are homegrown. The New River Valley values the industry that is already contributing to our economy. 28 of the 32 Manufacturing SIC codes are represented in the New River Valley.
