Graduate/Undergraduate Student GIS Technician Internship
The New River Valley Planning District Commission (NRVPDC) is looking for a responsible and motivated person to help with GIS mapping projects. The intern will work closely with the Data Systems Manager on a variety of projects including:
- Digitizing data for the New River Health District
- Developing and analyzing data for a local recreation plan
- Preparing maps for the rural transportation work program and other local/regional planning projects
Interested candidates should be familiar with processing US Census and other tabular data. In addition, candidates should be familiar with ArcGIS for Desktop and ArcGIS Online to develop maps that support analysis from different perspectives.
This is a temporary position available January through June 2015. Employees can work 10 – 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:30 am and 5:00 pm.
