Want to better serve your constituents?

Come to Southwest Virginia’s Regional Trails and Green Infrastructure Conference!

Dear Elected Official,

You are cordially invited to attend Building Trails to a Greener Future: Linking the Economy, Healthy Communities and the Environment, a conference focusing on emerging concepts in green infrastructure and multi-jurisdictional trails. The conference will be held May 17th – 19th, 2007, at Radford University in Radford, Virginia. Due to the success and interest in trails and greenways generated by previous conferences, this event is expected to attract 150 - 250 participants! There will be a wide variety of interest groups represented including state and federal agencies, local governments, non-profits, recreational businesses, academics, outdoor enthusiasts and more. Virginia Governor Tim Kaine has been invited!

Building Trails to a Greener Future will provide elected officials in the New River Valley with an unprecedented opportunity to meet and interact with a diverse audience of professionals from around the state. The event will provide a forum for discussion and education on topics including trail management structures, the economic, environmental, and health benefits of green infrastructure, funding sources for green infrastructure and trail implementation, state programs that promote multi-jurisdictional trail implementation, and many more.

Because elected officials are key to the success of regional planning efforts such as green infrastructure and implementation of multi-jurisdictional trails, elected officials registration isfree!

Please join us May 17th – May 19th to energize the trails, greenways and blueways movement in the New River Valley and gain insight into these crucial ideas. Together we can make our region a pioneer in green infrastructure for Virginia!

Please do not hesitate to call me at 693-9313 if you would like additional information or follow this link and fill out the registration form. I look forward to working with you!
